How OMNIWave Works

Persistent pain is often less about the original injury and more about what happens after. When tissue is damaged, circulation to that area drops off. Scar tissue builds up. The body's repair process stalls. That cycle is what keeps some conditions from fully resolving, even after rest, physical therapy, and time.

OMNIWave is a focused acoustic wave device that addresses the tissue directly:

  1. The handpiece delivers electrohydraulic acoustic pulses through the skin at the speed of sound in soft tissue, creating mechanical stimulation at the cellular level.
  2. That stimulation activates endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) in the blood vessel walls, which triggers the release of nitric oxide and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF).
  3. The result is a biological cascade: new capillary formation in tissue that had been starved of circulation, recruitment of stem and progenitor cells to the injury site, downregulation of the pro-inflammatory signals that perpetuate chronic pain, and activation of fibroblasts that produce new collagen.
  4. Scar tissue breaks up. Blood flow returns. The body's own repair process restarts.

There are no incisions, no injections, and no anesthesia involved. Sessions run under 10 minutes.

Is OMNIWave a Good Fit for You?

OMNIWave tends to be a good option for patients who have been dealing with a tendon, joint, or soft tissue problem for a while and have not gotten where they want to be with rest, medication, or physical therapy. It is also a reasonable path for anyone who wants to address the issue without surgery or injections. If you are working with us on weight loss, through surgery, GLP-1 therapy, or our nutrition program, OMNIWave can help address the musculoskeletal strain that years of carrying excess weight often leave behind.

The team at Northwest Endosurgical will review what you are experiencing and be straightforward about whether OMNIWave makes sense before you schedule anything.

Your Visit at Northwest Endosurgical

Consultation

Before any treatment happens, the team reviews your history, the area of concern, and what you have already tried. If OMNIWave is appropriate, a session plan is put together around your specific situation rather than a standard number of visits applied across the board.

Treatment

A small amount of gel is applied to the skin over the target area. The OMNIWave handpiece is then held against the skin and delivers focused acoustic waves into the tissue below. The DepthFlex feature allows the depth of wave delivery to be adjusted for the specific tissue being treated, rather than running a fixed depth for every patient. Sessions typically run under 10 minutes. No sedation, no numbing, no needles. Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure.

After

There is no recovery period. Most patients leave and go about their normal day. The recommended number of sessions and the spacing between them will be based on the condition being treated and how you respond after the first visit.

Questions About OMNIWave

How is this different from physical therapy?

Physical therapy works primarily through movement, strengthening, and manual techniques. OMNIWave addresses the tissue itself, using focused acoustic waves to break up scar tissue, stimulate blood vessel growth, and activate the body's repair response in areas where circulation has been limited. The two approaches are not mutually exclusive, and OMNIWave is often sought by patients who have completed physical therapy but have not fully recovered.

Is OMNIWave painful?

Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure at the treatment site. Some experience brief, minor discomfort during the session, but there is nothing that requires recovery time or pain management afterward.

Is it FDA cleared?

OMNIWave is registered with the FDA as a Class 1 device, which is the classification for low-risk wellness devices. Class 1 devices do not require pre-market approval before clinical use.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on the condition being treated and how you respond to the first session. The team will give you a clear recommendation at your consultation rather than a generic number.

Does insurance cover OMNIWave?

The cost of OMNIWave is not reimbursed by health insurance. Pricing is confirmed at the consultation. Northwest Endosurgical accepts CareCredit® for patients who prefer to spread the cost across monthly payments.

How does omniwave improve sexual health?

The same mechanism that restores circulation to injured joints applies to sexual tissue. For men, it can improve erectile function by stimulating new vessel growth and activating dormant nerve tissue without medication. For women, focused wave energy to the pelvic region can support arousal, sensation, lubrication, and bladder control.
