A cutting-edge targeted fat reduction treatment, CoolSculpting® in Katy, TX provides patients with a cost-effective and non-invasive alternative to liposuction. Performed by board-certified general surgeon Dr. Matthew St. Laurent at Northwest EndoSurgical, CoolSculpting® can provide results for fat reduction on areas of the body resistant to diet and exercise.
What is CoolSculpting®?
CoolSculpting® is a means of targeted fat reduction using controlled cooling. The procedure is conducted using devices consisting of paddles placed directly on the body. Hose attachments deliver freezing temperatures to those paddles and onto targeted fat.
This painless procedure can provide up to 30% lasting fat loss between one and three sessions. Because each session is only one hour in duration and involves no invasive procedures or anesthesia, patients are able to gain the benefit of fat reduction without a need for recovery or downtime.
Benefits of CoolSculpting®
CoolSculpting® is lesser expensive than liposuction. For the targeted areas of the body CoolSculpting® devices can treat, this form of fat removal is a great alternative to more invasive, surgical procedures requiring anesthesia and extended recovery periods. There is no downtime associated with treatment using CoolSculpting® and patients are able to return to regular daily activities immediately following their session. Within one to three sessions of using fat freezing, patients can experience 25% to 30% fat reduction in treated areas.
How is CoolSculpting® Performed?
CoolSculpting® treatments are scheduled for completion in about an hour. Each session involves placement of controlled cooling devices directly in the areas of desired fat reduction. Attached hoses deliver fat freezing temperatures, resulting in effective freezing and subsequent crystallization of targeted fat cells. At the end of the hour-long session, patients receive a light massage on the treated area to return optimal blood flow.
After the patient leaves the session and continues with his or her routine, the body’s immune system starts to work on crystallized fat cells. Those cells are identified as unusable by the body and targeted for treatment. Enzymes released by the immune system reduce the cells to lipids which are then transported through the bloodstream and out of the body as flushed-out waste. This entire process takes about 12 weeks. When completed, the treated areas are significantly and noticeably reduced.
